This is another LOLGitHub, mattd. (From now on, I will use this name for this kind of hilarious repository)
You ain’t gonna stop Matt Daemon!
$ service mattd start
Starting Matt Daemon... [ OK ]
$ service mattd status
Matt Daemon is running.
$ service mattd stop
You can't stop Matt Daemon. Permission denied. [FAILED]
$ sudo service mattd stop
Stopping Matt Daemon... [ OK ]
But it actually is a big FAIL, because not every Linux uses service, I think it’s only for Fedora/RedHat and some distributions. My Gentoo doesn’t use that helper.
“THEY SHOULD HAVE LEFT HIM ALONE,” LOL!
Keep your hands off dat service!
