Last year, aliens contacted via this blog. This year, this blog had been classified as TOP SECRET!
1 Top Secret
My original idea wasn’t redacting the blog, but rather using some Morse Code or Barcode fonts, but I couldn’t really find one is free. Then I remembered I had done this redaction thing, why not just use it with that awesome TOP SECRET?
If you read the messages at bottom, you should notice some numbers and they didn’t come from thin air. They were generated by the Elementize.py:
- 5.16 → BS
- 75.13 → Real
- 102 16.92.6.1 15.67.10# → no such phone#
I decided to add routes to let readers be able to get around it if they really need to read the contents. “I’m A Genius,” quite hilarious, wasn’t it?
1.1 How many genii do we have here?
A screenshot was taken around 2013-04-02T04:16:56Z from Google Analytics report on page url containing the ImAGenius string. Dozens of people thought they were genii!
2 Blogger Shortened URL
Like last year, I needied a fake post to lure possible victims in, ehhh, I meant visitors via feed. So, I picked up a post supposedly to be called “If Blogger had shortened URL” and made it be a completely bogus post: Blogger announces new shortened URL feature.
It read like a introduction post, and quite frankly, it sounded genuine to some degree. It’s quite funny when you writing a fake interview, essentially you were just talking to yourself with different personalities.
So, this fabricated post served as a bait for Top Secret and another hoax.
