I’ve known of Bitcoin for years, but never got to even install the clients until now.
I’m currently watching Bitcoin StarCraft Challenge casted by TotalBiscuit and Idra, beain to install the official Qt programs during the pre-showmatch showmatch between EGiNcontrol and Destiny.
Frankly, I did receive donation a few times, maybe twice or thrice, but that’s more. I have even had Flattr and Gittip, but never given any hope of receving any donation. That’s why I don’t put link on this blog or to any source code’s websites.
Adding Bitcoin and Litecoin to my donate page, I could certainly say it wouldn’t receive any. Besides, I don’t entirely sure how the coin works. The clients are still having 100+ weeks to synchronize, apparently you need to run the clients regularly.
The coins seem to gain popularity day by day, but there are positive news as well as negative news about the coins. Organizations and local governments even start to accept the coins as donations, not just businesses. Unfortunately, some use the coins to buy and sell of illegal products and/or services.
The showmatch showhow triggered me, but it’s not as if it convinced me to use coins. I still don’t care, just trying to kill time, so I installed the clients and updated the donate page, and I could write a new blog post.
