Disclaimer I am nowhere to be someone can claim knowing about legal stuff.

Sometime ago, maybe a couple of years, I recalled reading a request on a project which uses WTFPL, which stands for “Do What the Fuck You Want to Public License,” and the license read:

Everyone is permitted to copy and distribute verbatim or modified

That request was about changing to other license which doesn’t have F word in the license text and the title. I can’t say I second the request nor disagree with it. Legal stuff is serious thing, but by using such word, does that make the license void?

Back to the RSL, Rude Software License¹ by Adam Hayward, it reads:

All rights reserved. So don't fuck with me.

Redistribution and use in source and binary forms, with or
without modification, are permitted provided that the following

If you have good eyes, you must have recognized the similarity to the New BSD License, as known as 3-clause license, only some unnecessary words and pronouns are inserted or changed, and, of course, the word “fuck” is used at exponential scale.

Honestly, I don’t think this license would be valid as open source, as I said in the opening, I don’t have knowledge about legal, therefore I could be very much wrong. But there are some legal terms, such as As is, and this license changed is to be “AS FUCKING IS.”

Would that promote a hearing about the definition of “FUCKING” in that term and the source of “AS FUCKING IS” since the term is quoted?

Can’t believe this is actually two years old, and just got trending. Maybe it’s not the license lame, but the trending system. For me, this license, if you can really call it that, it’s just a ten-minute entertainment for a morning cuppa.
