Although I don’t really want a “+YuJieLin” as my custom URL, even I don’t use Google+.
When I received the email about my eligibility for having custom URL:
A Google+ user would be more than happy to hear this news, but not me and hold your horse. It says it reserves one custom URL for you, and it does mean that’s one, take it or leave it.
You can’t change it except for tiny tweaks:
Remember, you can only change the capitalization or accents/diacritics of the URL, not the URL itself.
I can’t edit it to “+livibetter” after taking it. So, did I take it?
Yep, I did.
Off-topic: I got asked for code verification sent by text message. Prior to this Google+ custom URL verification, I also had YouTube partner phone verification and Google account notification verification, had been stalling for really long time, I hate phones. Google must have a single system for all verification, 6-digit code in exactly same text message. There is no notes in the message denoting which service the code is for. Gladly, I remembered the order of the send buttons I clicked, and entered three sets of codes in that order.
Hopefully, someday in future, Google+ will allow one-time custom URL change in life time. Just a quick and final nitpick, in Google’s dictionary, “custom” must have a very different meaning.
