I think whoever has seen My Big Fat Greek Wedding would always remember or recall what Nick has said to his sister Toula:
Don’t let your past dictate who you are, but let it be part of who you will become.
It seems that’s a wisdom from Dear Abby, which Nick picks up. I was a bit taken aback when the line suddenly comes out of Nick’s mouth. Nick is a character, who is kind of careless in a sense, not really portrayed in the film but that’s what I felt when I watched, then he wants to attend some night class and give advice to his sister. Definitely caught everyone’s ears.
The second quote isn’t from the movie directly, but someone else (via) wrote the quote after seeing the film:
the fewer things you keep, the more special they are. […]too many sentimental things become less loved and more burdensome.
More is less, less is more?
