Few days ago, I saw a picture on a WordPress.com blog, which was a food photo. Someone took a photo of a bowl of noodles. If I recall correctly, it’s taken in an Asian food restaurant in a western country I believe.
The eating utensil is a fork. When I just saw that, I got a feeling that’s somewhat wrong, but
From left to right: most recent / for instant noodles / for dry noodles
I fork noodles, too.
So, I shouldn’t be judgmental since I do the same, the last time I actually used a pair of chopsticks was more than four years ago, but I might just take the photo with chopsticks and used fork to test my forking skills, I can’t remember if I did eat with chopsticks.
Yes, I do believe fork is harder, at least when eating Asian noodles. Two sticks versus a fork, by the number of objects, sticks win. However, if you do master the chopsticks, they really are easier. You can apply pressure as much as you need, the fork can’t work that way, it’s fundamentally different in design.
Recently, I started to eat, not just with fork, but also with an additional spoon. Guess that soup is too good to wait until the end to slurp down.
Normally, I don’t bother the soup in the beginning, just eat the noodles and other ingredients first, then take the pot off table and drink from it to finish the soup noodles.
