I don’t know how many of you have watched Star Trek television series, and how many of whom have watched this particular episode, The Inner Light.

I watched this episode many years ago, but I must admit I wasn’t actually drawn into it at first, not until Picard — or Kamin — sitting on the steps and playing this song with his brass Ressikan flute. It’s the music got me back to the story, the second time I watched it, I didn’t miss any bit. If you never watched it, this ending shall shade some light on what this episode would be for you.

It has no battles, no phases or torpedoes, nothing gets your blood pumping, but it’s filled with the inner light. Interesting enough, this episode has become one of my favorite of all Star Trek episodes.

Unfortunately, I couldn’t find any clips on YouTube, the very close was still frame, so I decided to put a video has only to do with the music. However, if you want to watch a clip, here is one from Lessons, Picard’s duet with Nella Daren at the fourth intersect in Jefferies tube 25. This episode is also my favorite, guess I like watching some inner struggling and pang.

Ever since I started watching America’s Heartland, the theme song is so familiar every time the new episode starts. The show’s website has a page about the singer Michael Martin Murphey and a clip of the theme song, you can also watch it (different version) on Vimeo.

It’s about the people who are working hard on the land, both men and women. I also like this part:

The human heart can never come of age.

It’s basically saying about the connection to the land. We all live on a land, one way or another, unless you are a astronauts who station on the ISS. Whoever you are, farmer or the President, you have to live on a land. But there is difference, farmer knows how the earth breathes, they have connection to the land.

These days, we have lost the touch, living on a land we have known nothing about for entire life. You don’t need to be a farmer or someone growing own food, you only need to touch the earth to have the bond.

It’s not about losing in modern life, but the heart.

I haven’t watched The Big Bang Theory since third episode of season five, kind of lose interest in the show. But two weeks ago, I watched a video, the full version of this flash mob¹. The full version is much longer and has more than just one song.

The song is Call Me Maybe by Carly Rae Jepsen. This song has grown very popular, lots of lip dub videos have been made. I didn’t know the song or the singer until this July when a blogger posted about Cookie Monster’s Share It Maybe. Yes, I was introduced the song by the Cookie Monster, so you know whenever I hear this song, cookies pops up in my mind.

I wonder, besides the director and some crew, if Sheldon (Jim Parsons) was the only one got left out?

Battlestar Galactica: Blood and Chrome is a prequel to Battlestar Galactica and is being broadcast on Machinima Prime channel as 10 web episodes.

The story is about the young William Adama who is fresh out of academy and eager to pilot a viper and to kill enemies. But things doesn’t turn out to be what he expects.

I am not a big fan of Battlestar Galactica and its previous prequel Caprica, which I only watched the pilot episode. The story, style, and elements aren’t very interesting to me, especially the involving of religion part. But I know it’s a great show, at least Battlestar Galactica is, because I have watched the last season and I like its ending.

I just watched first two episodes of Blood and Chrome, it’s not bad. I certainly will continue watching the last of episodes. It’s the only space sci-fi still alive, you got to watch what you still have.

I know I am late for this one. Do really people cry with Someone Like You?

I think the parody of SNL skit is better, but the ice cream is better, I didn’t even notice there were ice cream on desk. Cake doesn’t fit into the stereotype, or that’s just television shows mess up with us?

You gotta have a fork with you, just in case you hear Someone Like You. ;)

It’s MacUselless, with two L’s! What a shame, the Stargate Universe series is axed.

Since today (13th) and tomorrow are not good for serious posts. You will understand when you visit this blog on 13th and 14th in your local time, you should be seeing (literally) the reason.

Another quick note, I would like to tell, is there is an ape in this blog. It is staying right below the pages list and search box. I am currently trying to raise it. It’s like the bird, but an ape actually.

Here is a random rant: Why is headphones broken so easily? Actually, it’s headphones’ wire part. I have three different pairs made by different manufacturers, Sennheiser (really expensive pair, broken in one year or two), Audio-Technia (about ten years, actually a nice investment), Logitech (cheap headset, broken in just a few months).

Only Sennheiser is full size (and a headset), the latter two are supra-aural type. The most interesting part, if I recall correctly, it’s all the left ear.

I often have to play the wire, try to twist them, roll them, pull them, or tilt my head, if the sound goes back, I say cheese. I mean I stay still as much comfortable as I could.

The worst part is I want to fix them but I can’t, because they all are designed to seal tight. I tried very hard to pry them open, but I didn’t success. I am really considering to cut them open.

Here is one stock thing I want to post but the time didn’t come and I hadn’t had good way to write about them.

I wonder if this is so-called chick flick as in US. I didn’t know this kind of show also produced in Germany, maybe it’s common all over the world.

It’s so…, it seems everyone in that wedding ceremony is flirting with someone else. And please forgive me for wanting to chuckle when that disabled woman comes into the scene, I was convinced this is a tear-triggering show.

It must like those romance novels which housewives read for killing time. I have seen a relation chart, a very complex one, of a novel via a blog about writing. After I saw that chart, I finally understand how complex the relationship between people and how they possibly would have complicated affairs in a novel. Do people read such books?

At first I thought Alles was zählt is the song title, but it’s actually the show title. 1,104 episodes (as of January 25, 2011), yep definitely a daily soap show and chick flick.

The only show I remember which has in-show-promotion is Las Vegas.

I watched this Law & Order: UK video via YouTube trending. I could not believe BBC would ever make a promo video like this. It’s completely hilarious and kind of making sarcasm on its own show.

I think I can put some facts together to see what Americans have learnt from British:

The rhythm has stuck in my head for two days. I watched Cover Affairs from premiere, I did not really notice that theme song, but I suddenly hummed that part of song, not the vocal part.

This show is just a normal tv show, not too outstanding but definitely a good show to kill your free time.

I think the espionage in a tv show has some power to attract people to watch. Like Chuck, I watched it because it’s about spy and geek. But you have to realize that a tv show is just a show, they are far away from realistic world. (Futurama probably is one exception, I heard that created a mathematics theorem specially for the show. I never watched it, don’t like animation.)

Spy plus beautiful female and handsome male leading roles, definitely a must-see. Even that guy is set as a blind man in the show, but that even is a plus, because how you could imagine a blind guy work for CIA?

Sometimes, it’s amazing that a song suddenly pops up in your head, then it stays for a while. “The worst day since yesterday” by Flogging Molly, I knew this song from Stargate Universe, I wasn’t a SG fan. Actually, I never noticed this scifi until SGU.

I still couldn’t understand how get stuck on a ancient alien ship or how a bunch of people hold projectile weapons can control—even operate technology far beyond their knowledge, could possibly have a story to write about. Yep, I know it’s a scifi, but I just feel the story isn’t quite convincing. Maybe I just need to catch up Stargate from the beginning.

When something happens in real life, it usually triggers some related memory, and usually a song would be played in my head. Good tune plus the motion pictures of fiction story, that’s how they got embedded in me.

(PS. I have a strong feeling, it wasn’t my first heard from SGU. Somehow, I feel it’s from Numb3rs or Chuck, but I couldn’t find the proof. Might just be the false memory?)
